Talking Mideast peace as mortar shells, bombs fall
JERUSALEM - Underscoring Mideast perils, Palestinian militants and Israeli forces attacked each other with mortar shells and fighter strikes Wednesday, even as U.S.

UNITED NATIONS - Israel urged Lebanon and the international community on Friday to prevent ships from sailing to Gaza from the Lebanese port of Tripoli to break Israel's blockade of the Hamas-ruled Palestinian territory.

BEIRUT - Lebanon on Tuesday granted the country's 400,000 Palestinian refugees the right to work in the same professions as other foreigners, lifting a decades-old ban that has relegated the refugees to only the most menial jobs.
