THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - SunTec, the city-based provider of pricing and centralised billing solutions, has won a Red Herring 100 Global award, given to promising technology companies in industry innovation.

It is the only Kerala-based IT company among the 10 Indian firms to figure in Red Herring’s list of 100 most promising technology companies across the globe.

Red Herring is a global media company that brings out a technology magazine, runs an online technology news service and publishes technology newsletters.

In a statement issued here Wednesday, SunTec said it was an honour to be selected as a Red Herring 100 Global winner.

“This award validates our efforts in redefining the transaction pricing and billing space, transcending industry barriers and across verticals including telecom, utilities, ports, retail, hospitality, leasing and logistics,” said SunTec chief executive K. Nanda Kumar in the statement.

The company had won the Red Herring 100 Asia award late last year.

Winners in the past include Google, Yahoo, Skype, Netscape, Salesforce.com, YouTube and eBay.
