Grains futures, livestock prices slide
CHICAGO — Grain futures dropped Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.
Wheat for December delivery slumped 5.25 cents to $6.5825 a bushel; December corn dropped 2.5 cents to $4.885 a bushel; December oats dipped 1.25 cents to $3.515 a bushel; and soybeans for November delivery slid 9.75 cents to $10.62 a bushel.
Beef and pork futures fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
December live cattle dropped 0.60 cent to 97.07 cents a pound; November feeder cattle shed 0.25 cent to $1.0925 a pound; December lean hogs dipped 0.05 cent to 72.20 cents a pound; while February pork bellies fell 3 cents to $1.0450 a pound.
