Electric car REVAi to be marketed in Pune

PUNE - Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Limited has announced that REVAi vehicle would be available at four Mahindra dealers in Pune.
This is one of the major initiatives announced by the company after its acquisition of the Reva car by the Mahindra Group in May 2010.
Mahindra Reva intends to extend the market throughout the country by making the electric car available at several Mahindra outlets across the country.
“We were till now present only in Bangalore and Delhi. So, in the first phase, we have taken up Delhi, Jaipur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Trichur, Calicut and Pune. So, Mahindra dealers in this place will distribute our cars, so that gives us a huge boost of increased network of dealership,” said R. Chandramouli, Chief of Operations, Mahindra Reva.
The Centre is also taking steps towards promoting electric cars in India as issues of global warming and energy security have made electric cars an attractive option.
“Last 15 days back, the government announced a 20 percent subsidy on electric vehicles, which is a very significant move by the government and we really appreciate it. With that, the prices have come down and I think it will become more and more affordable,” said R. Chandramouli.
The REVAi is a technologically advanced car equipped with a boost mode for acceleration and power. It as an eco-friendly and economical car, offering ease to driving without clutch and gears.
