State Bank Of India Unveils Platinum Card

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Leading Public sector bank SBI or State Bank of India which already has a staggering debit card base of 70 million, has added a new platinum debit card to its portfolio. Its other existing offerings are SBI Yuva Card, SBI Gold Debit Card and SBI Cash Plus cards which are all quite popular. The new chip based debit card was unveiled by the bank on Friday. SBI says that the card is a unique product and first of its kind in the market. The users who will use these cards will be able to withdraw a maximum amount of 100,000 INR from the ATMs in the country. Not only that, they will also be able to spend 200,000INR at the PoS. They will also be given exclusive offers from luxury outlets and some brands.
Apart from the ability to withdraw more money, the new platinum debit card unveiled by the State Bank of India but they will also get additional insurance coverage. The amount of insurance coverage would be 500,000 INR for accidental deaths and for card loss liabilities, the compensation would be 50,000INR. The inauguration ceremony of the new debit card was attended by the bank’s chairman O. P. Bhatt. The chairman said that this card is meant for the affluent customers of the bank who need to make huge monetary transactions frequently.
The new platinum debit card offered by the State Bank of India literally doubles the amount of maximum withdrawal from Bank ATMs in India. It is highly secured and the chances of electronic data theft are quite minimal as the bank has said.
