Northrop Grumman gets $114M Navy contract
PASCAGOULA, Miss. — Defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corp. said Friday it received a modified contract worth $114 million to provide materials for a U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer.
Northrop Grumman said it will provide long lead materials for its 30th DDG 51 class Aegis guided missile destroyer.
The new deal is a modification of a contract given to Northrop Grumman in December 2009. The company said it will allow it to begin purchasing propulsion gas turbines, generators, controllable pitch propeller, and other components to support construction of the new destroyer.
