Genworth Financial names senior vice president

RICHMOND, Va. — Genworth Financial Inc. on Friday named Timothy Herr as senior vice president, brokerage general agency distribution.

Herr, 54, has more than 30 years experience in the insurance industry. Most recently, he was president and founder of consulting firm Preferred Strategic Partners LLC. Previously, he held senior management positions with the AXA Insurance Companies. He also worked with Ceres Group, American Chambers Life Insurance Company and Mutual of Omaha Companies.

Genworth Financial shares closed regular trading up 68 cents, or 4.9 percent, at $14.51.
