‘Global Investors Meet’ organized in Karnataka

Bangalore (Karnataka), June 3 (ANI): In a bid to woo potential investors, entrepreneurs and global business firms to the region, the Karnataka Government initiated a two-day ‘Global Investors Meet’ (GIM) here on Thursday.
The theme of the event was ‘Advantage Karnataka-One State, Many Opportunities’.
The event witnessed the participation of Kingfisher Chairman Vijay Mallya, Wipro CEO Azim Premji and Steel Tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, who discussed business ventures in Karnataka.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who presided over the meet, expressed his desire of seeing Karnataka ‘marching ahead on the path of progress’ with the policies of the State government.
“The State government has brought out improved services and investor-friendly facilities on industry, infrastructure, tourism, Information Technology-Biotechnology (IT-BT), textiles and renewable energy,” said Yeddyurappa.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley, who inaugurated the event, expressed his happiness on the energetic response given by the industry tycoons.
“Let me compliment the State of Karnataka and the Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa, who has taken this great initiative. Just when the world has emerged from a slowdown, he has taken this huge step in inviting the very best in the country and the very best in the world, to invest in the state of Karnataka,” said Jaitley.
