BANGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- It is quite clear that the leading technology giants of India are trying top get back their previous employees back in place. They are finding it hard to cater to the growing demand for outsourcing services with fresh recruits. Another problem bugging these companies is the high rates of attrition. The two big companies who have taken initiatives to woo back their ex employees include Tata Consultancy Services Ltd and Infosys Technologies Inc. They are trying to get back those ex employees who left the company for greener pastures.
Infosys Technologies Inc has started Green Channel a unique initiative to get back the talented ex employees. However, the policy is applicable to the employees of the company who are working in India as of now. Earlier a unpopular human resources program named iRACE or Infosys Role and Career Enhancement resulted in any talented workers leaving the firm. The company has learnt the mistake from the program and is now in a damage control mode. Nandita Gurjar, the global head of human resources for Infosys said that the new initiative will be beneficial both for the company and ex employees. However, she did not say what the conditions for rejoining the company are.
Infosys may gain from the initiative as it will save on expenses spent usually on training new recruits. It will help the firm in saving time too. The company has to spend nearly 8.5 billion INR per year for imparting training to the new recruits. Other Indian firms like TCS are also considering hiring ex workers for same reasons.
