SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems that after Mark Hurd’s resignation and every controversy that followed afterwards, the Hewlett-Packard Company is back to its normal condition by appointing new CEO. The renowned computer executive Leo Apotheker is appointed as the new HP CEO, the HP officials announced it on Thursday. Leo Apotheker served the position of a CEO of SAP AG from April 2008 to February 2010.

The Hewlett-Packard Company has also named Ray Lane, from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, who is appointed as the non-executive chairman of the company. The officials announced that both the appointments will come into effect on November 1, 2010. Leo Apotheker will be the third HP CEO in a decade. Tim Weber, business editor of the BBC News website said that Leo Apotheker is the perfect choice as HP CEO as the company needs to “stand out” in the crowded market of computer hardware. The business editor meant to say that Leo Apotheker, with his experience and expertise will be able to boost HP’ software as well as IT services. Tim Weber also added that Leo Apotheker is an expert in enterprise computing.

Leo Apotheker seemed exciting to be appointed as the new CEO of HP. The former CEO of SAP AG said in his statement that one can never be “done’ with the efficiency and HP will continue to strive better and drive “efficiency”. Leo Apotheker also added that HP will continue to have focus on the growth of the company. The former member of SAP AG executive board said that the company will focus on the growth and efficiency of the company. However, Fort Pitt Capital analyst Kim Caughey expressed his concern by saying that both HP and SAP AG are different companies and he doubts how Leo Apotheker will handle the situations in HP.
