Openbravo aims four-fold growth

KOLKATA - Openbravo, one of the leading web-based open source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) providers, is aiming at a four-fold growth in deployments across Asia-Pacific region this year, a top executive of the company said Wednesday.

The ERP is a software system that integrates internal and external management information across an entire organisation. It provides the business management executives with a comprehensive overview of the complete business execution.

“Adoption of Openbravo has increased to nearly 5,000 deployments across Asia-Pacific countries, registering a growth rate of 138 percent last year. And this year we are eyeing 20,000 deployments in the region,” Openbravo’s vice president for channels Andreu Bartoli told reporters here.

He said the Spain-based company will launch software application “Openbravo 3″ next week worldwide.

“The company, which has offices in the US, Spain and India, is managed by a leading team of professionals. It has regional partners in more than 20 countries worldwide,” he stated.

At present Openbravo has 20 partners in Asia-Pacific region out of which 10 are from India. In the next 12 months the company targets to increase its partners in India to 20.

Bartoli said ERP business in small and medium enterprice was a $30 billion market globally and open source business globally stood at $8.1 billion.

“About 84 percent of the market will be moving towards open source by 2013,” he added.

According to Nasscom report, ERP spending in India is about $1.5 billion.
