Ind. lawmakers to consider tax, ethics bills
INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana lawmakers are poised to act on legislation dealing with property tax caps and lobbying and ethics restrictions.
The House is expected to vote Monday on legislation aimed at amending limits on property tax bills into the state constitution. The same measure is likely to clear a procedural stage in the Senate on Monday and then win passage in that chamber this week.
The House also plans to vote on a bill that would tighten lobbying and ethics rules. The bill would do several things, including prohibiting lawmakers from becoming lobbyists for one year after their terms expire.
