WASHINGTON — Attention Amtrak passengers, expect crowded trains.
Amtrak says it believes Wednesday will be its busiest travel day of the year as people travel to see family for Thanksgiving. Union Station is already bustling with people Wednesday morning.
The railroad is predicting ridership could be as high as 125,000 passengers. On an average Wednesday the railroad carries approximately 74,000 passengers.
Amtrak says it has scheduled extra trains to accommodate the passengers.
