Cypress appoints Akamai CFO to its board

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Chip maker Cypress Semiconductor Corp. on Monday said it had appointed J.D. Sherman, the chief financial officer of Web content distribution company Akamai Technologies Inc., to its board.

The appointment of Sherman, 45, brings “a strong financial management perspective” to the board, said T.J. Rodgers, president and CEO of San Jose-based Cypress.

It expands the board to eight members.
