NEW YORK — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:

AK Steel Holding Corp., up $1.08 to $21.27
The company posted a quarterly profit and said demand for steel is picking up after a sharp slowdown during the recession.
Halliburton Co., down 8 cents to $31.07
The company is still recovering from a plunge in U.S. energy consumption last year that forced oil drillers to pull hundreds of rigs offline.
Sealed Air Corp., down 37 cents to $20.07
The Bubble Wrap maker said fourth-quarter profit climbed 38 percent as it slashed costs to offset a dip in revenue.
Medifast Inc., up $2.36 to $21.24
The diet-products maker said it expects to top Wall Street expectations for the final quarter and the full fiscal year.
RRI Energy Inc., up 22 cents to $5.23
An analyst upgraded the company’s stock and said the power producer is well positioned to gain increasing power demand.
Stage Stores Inc., up 92 cents to $13.62
An analyst lifted the department store operator
Quest Diagnostics Inc., down $1.36 to $57.44
The laboratory operator said its profit grew due to greater use of genetic and specialized tests.
NASDAQ:
PrivateBancorp Inc., up $1.83 to $11.83
The commercial bank and wealth management company posted a smaller fourth-quarter loss, even though customers are still struggling to pay loans.
