Pending new Rangers owner excited watching team
ARLINGTON, Texas — Wearing a red Texas Rangers pullover while players took batting practice on a sunny day, Chuck Greenberg had a hard time containing his excitement.
Greenberg is the lead investor in a group that has agreed to buy the Texas Rangers from Tom Hicks. He made an appearance Tuesday during the team’s winter development camp at Rangers Ballpark.
Greenberg described the bats hitting balls as “one of the best sounds in the world” and says it feels like opening day is close.
The sale still has to be reviewed and approved by Major League Baseball. Greenberg is hopeful the process can be completed by the April 5 season opener.
