Toy makers’ small packages pack tech punch
TOY SHOW: The American International Toy Fair, the industry’s primary trade show, starts Sunday. Mattel, Hasbro, and other toy makers will display top products for 2010.
FOCUS ON COST: Toy makers are offering toys infused with technology at lower prices as consumers continue to hold back on bigger-ticket items. There are few 2010 toys over $100 and most are under $30.
TECH SAVVY: Tech-focused toys include Mattel’s tiny Hot Wheels radio-control Stealth Rides for $24.99, Hasbro’s Scrabble Flash Cubes digital game for $29.99 and Jakks Pacific Spy Net Pen Audio Bug for $24.99.
