WHISTLER, British Columbia — Bode Miller will try to become the first man to win four Alpine skiing medals at a single Olympics when he races in Tuesday’s giant slalom.

Joining him on the four-man U.S. roster for the giant slalom announced Monday are: 2006 combined gold medalist Ted Ligety of Park City, Utah; Tommy Ford of Bend, Ore.; and Jake Zamansky of Aspen, Colo.

Ford and Zamansky will be making their Olympic debuts Tuesday.

Miller, a 32-year-old from Franconia, N.H., has won three medals through three races at these Olympics: a gold in super-combined, a silver in super-G and a bronze in the downhill. His five career Olympic medals tie him for second-most by a man in Alpine skiing.
