Apple, Monster Worldwide, RCN are big movers

Transatlantic Holdings Inc., down $1.80 at $51.96
Insurer American International Group Inc. is selling its holdings of the reinsurer’s stock, about 14 percent of all shares.
Patriot Coal Corp., up $2.57 at $21.67
Published reports of a high price for coal in a big recent contract increased expectations about rising coal prices.
CF Industries Holdings Inc., down $3.49 at $104.74
The chemical company began its unsolicited $4.8 billion offer for fertilizer company Terra Industries Inc.
Monster Worldwide Inc., up 58 cents at $15.68
A better-than-expected employment report signaled an improving labor market, boosting shares of the job board Web site.

Apple Inc., up $8.24 at $218.95
The much-anticipated iPad tablet computer will be in U.S. stores April 3, slightly later than anticipated.
InterMune Inc., up $8.67 at $23.28
Shares jumped to their highest point since 2007 after regulators posted a review of the company’s experimental drug pirfenidone.
RCN Corp., up $2.89 at $15.15
Private equity firm Abry Partners plans to buy the cable operator for about $570 million in cash.
Coldwater Creek Inc., up 63 cents at $7.34
A Barclays analyst raised his rating on the women’s clothing retailer, saying profit could increase because of higher prices.
