Covidien said it is buying medical device maker ev3 for $2.6 billion in cash as it continues to revamp its business.
Gaylord Entertainment Co., down $1.28 at $25.31
An analyst said costs to repair massive flood damage to the company’s flagship property may be higher than expected.
RadioShack Corp., up 57 cents at $21.01
A newspaper said private equity firms were bidding to acquire the consumer electronics chain after months of buyout rumors.
Tenet Healthcare Corp., down $1 at $4.72
The hospital operator confirmed it has started talks about acquiring an Australian hospital corporation.
Rogers Corp., up 24 cents at $28.80
The company, which makes parts for electronics and aerospace manufacturers, raised its second-quarter outlook.

CombiMatrix Corp., down 48 cents at $2.27
The biotechnology company will stop seeking a buyer for it or its assets as it focuses on growing its diagnostics services business.
Apple Inc., up $3.95 at $260.83
The company said iPads sales topped 2 million since the tablet computer launched almost two months ago.
CDC Software Corp., down 23 cents at $8.31
The business software maker said earnings in 2010 and 2011 will be lower than what Wall Street expects, but revenue will be higher.
