Atlas Air signs leasing deal with British Airways

PURCHASE, N.Y. — Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. said its UK subsidiary has signed a five-year leasing agreement with British Airways to operate three Boeing 747-8 freighters on behalf of British Airways World Cargo starting next year.

The deal is a long-term aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance outsourcing contract. The UK unit, Global Supply Systems Ltd., is 49-percent owned by Atlas Air Worldwide.

Shares of Atlas Air fell 19 cents to $58.60 in afternoon trading.
