CF Industries 2Q profit declines
DEERFIELD, Ill. — Fertilizer company CF Industries Holdings Inc. said Thursday that its second-quarter profit fell as its costs overshadowed revenue growth.
For April through June, CF Industries earned $105.1 million, or $1.54 per share, compared with $213 million, or $4.33 per share, a year earlier. The company reported $113.7 million in business combination and integration costs.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters, who generally exclude one-time items from their estimates, expected a profit of $3.16 per share.
Revenue rose 32 percent to $1.3 billion; analysts were expecting $1.2 billion.
Revenue was helped by $526.3 million in sales from Terra Industries Inc., which CF Industries acquired in April.
CF Industries shares fell $2.30 to $83.50 in after-hours trading, having finished regular trading up $2.91, or 3.5 percent, at $85.80.
