Bank of America, Lennar, Boeing are movers
NEW YORK — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:
NYSE:
Bank of America Corp., up 54 cents at $16.93
A Credit Suisse analyst upgraded the bank and boosted his earnings estimates due partly to last month’s repayment of government aid.
Lennar Corp., up $1.76 at $15.46
The homebuilder’s CEO predicted rising prices for houses and a profit for next year after new home orders rose in the fourth quarter.
GameStop Corp., down $3.57 at $20.46
Harsh winter weather and shortages of popular games and gaming devices hurt the retailer’s sales, and it cut its forecast.
Boeing Co., up $2.42 at $62.20
The aircraft maker said customers ordered the fewest planes last year since at least 2003, but deliveries rose.
Abercrombie & Fitch Co., down $3.54 at $32.67
The teen retailer said a key sales comparison measure fell 19 percent in December, a worse decline than analysts had expected.
NASDAQ:
Tessera Technologies Inc., down $3.37 at $20.02
The technology company said fourth-quarter sales would be below its previous guidance due to lower royalties.
UAL Corp., up 28 cents at $13.55
The government said the airline had the second-best record for on-time flights in November after Hawaiian Airlines.
Sears Holding Corp., up $10.31 at $99.18
The owner of Sears and Kmart issued a strong outlook as holiday sales rose at Kmart, a sign of a turnaround for the struggling retailer.
