Military orders armor upgrades, cargo trucks from Wis.-based Oshkosh Corp. in deal worth $32M

Oshkosh Corp. receives $32M order from military

OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Pentagon will pay the defense arm of Oshkosh Corp. nearly $32 million to upgrade the armor on 300 military vehicles and produce more than 90 cargo trucks.

Oshkosh Defense said Friday it expects to deliver the trucks by September.

The Oshkosh, Wis.-based company says its contract with the U.S. Marine Corps is worth $31.5 million.

It’s the latest in a string of lucrative military deals for Oshkosh Defense. Within the last year or so the company has received contracts worth $3.3 billion for thousands of mine-resistant trucks. The vehicles are specially designed to handle the rougher terrain of Afghanistan battlefields.

Shares of Oshkosh fell 39 cents to close Friday at $38.67.
