APNewsBreak: FairPoint files its bankruptcy plan

PORTLAND, Maine — The telecommunications provider FairPoint Communications Inc. has filed its bankruptcy reorganization plan after two months of delays.

The document was filed Monday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York, where FairPoint filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October, hobbled by $2.7 billion in debt.

FairPoint CEO David Hauser (HOO’-zer) planned a conference call with reporters to outline the company’s business plans.

North Carolina-based FairPoint has also been hurt by technical problems since paying $2.3 billion for Verizon Communications’ land line and Internet operations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont in 2008. It has operations in 18 states.

I received notification regarding Fairpoint’s Bankruptcy and I’m not sure how I’m involved. Is there a stock that i am in possession of that is not named Fairpoint, but is connected to this company.

Thank you in advance,

EW
