Terremark Worldwide cuts its third-quarter losses as revenue climbs 13 percent

Terremark fiscal 3Q loss narrows on higher revenue
MIAMI — Information technology services provider Terremark Worldwide Inc. said Monday that its fiscal third-quarter loss narrowed slightly as its revenue climbed 13 percent.
The company, based in Miami, lost $8.3 million, or 13 cents per share, for the three months ending in December. That compared with setback of $8.9 million, or 15 cents per share, in the same 2008 period.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had forecast a loss of 8 cents per share.
Revenue in the quarter totaled $74.3 million, about $800,000 below analyst estimates. Terremark’s quarterly revenue in the prior year was $65.9 million.
The company said it added 46 new customers during the quarter to give it 1,320 customers at the end of 2009.
Terremark expects to post revenue ranging from $80.1 million to $85.1 million in the current quarter. Analysts, on average, had projected revenue of $81 million.
