Badger Meter elects Wisconsin Energy CEO to board

MILWAUKEE — Badger Meter Inc. said Friday that it elected the CEO and president of Wisconsin Energy Corp. to its board.

Gale E. Klappa, 59, has been at Wisconsin Energy since 2003. Before that, he served as chief financial officer for Southern Co. in Atlanta.

Badger Meter said its board now has nine members, and Klappa will stand for re-election at the company’s annual meeting on April 30.

Badger Meter makes automatic utility meter-reading equipment. Its shares fell 27 cents to $35.32 in afternoon trading.
