Carrier selling Brivis to GWA International
FARMINGTON, Conn. — Carrier Corp. said on Monday it will sell its Brivis heating and air-conditioning operations in Australia to GWA International Ltd.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Carrier, a unit of United Technologies Corp., said Brivis Climate Systems had 2009 revenue of $70 million and 200 employees. It is based in Melbourne.
GWA supplies building fixtures and fittings in Australia.
Carrier, which makes heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, said selling Brivis is part of its strategy to reduce exposure to residential markets in other countries.
United Technologies shares fell 49 cents to close at $70.76.
