Clarification: Websense earnings story
NEW YORK — In a story April 27, The Associated Press reported that Websense Inc. posted first-quarter revenue of $79.8 million, while analysts were expecting revenue of $82.6 million. The story also said Websense projected revenue for the current quarter of $82 million to $84 million, while analysts had been forecasting $84.3 million.
The story should have noted that Websense also gives adjusted revenue figures that include deferred revenue from subscription services. Those are the figures used by analysts in the estimates collected by Thomson Reuters.
On an adjusted basis, Websense’s revenue for the first quarter was $81.8 million. For the current quarter, the company expects adjusted revenue of $83 million to $85 million.
