Corning spends $370,000 on lobbying in 1Q
NEW YORK — Corning Inc. spent $370,000 lobbying federal officials during the first quarter on the environment, taxes and access to China, according to a recent disclosure report.
That is more than the $260,000 the company spent a year earlier and more than the $290,000 it spent in 2009’s fourth quarter.
The specialty glass maker also lobbied the federal government on issues such as diesel emissions reduction and tariffs.
Corning lobbied Congress, the Treasury Department, the Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Trade Representative from January through March, according to its April 20 filing with the House clerk’s office.
