NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

BP PLC, up $2.97 at $45.38

Western Union Co., up 60 cents at $16.26
Western Union will slash its executive ranks and book $80 million in restructuring charges through next year.
Tiffany & Co., up $3.27 at $46.86
The jewelry and gift sellers net income more than doubled as its revenue rose in the U.S. and soared 50 percent in Asia.
AU Optronics Corp., up 50 cents at $9.75
SunPower Corp. plans to form a joint venture with AU Optronics that will own and operate a solar cell manufacturing plant in Malaysia.
Genesco Inc., up 93 cents at $29.91
The retailer that runs thousands of stores under a variety of names returned to a first-quarter net profit as its revenue increased.
Borders Group Inc., down 15 cents at $2.14
Cutting costs helped Borders narrow its fiscal first-quarter loss even as its revenue fell 16 percent.
