CBS, BP, Cablevision, Sara Lee among big movers

NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

NYSE:

CBS Corp., up 22 cents at $14.63

An analyst raised his rating and said the company should get more money from cable companies in exchange for the CBS signal soon.

BP PLC, down $3.30 at $30.67

The company’s board meets to decide whether to suspend its hefty dividend because of political pressure in the U.S.

Cablevision Systems Corp., up $1.17 at $24.57

The company will pay $1.4 billion to expand far beyond its focus in the New York City area with the purchase of Bresnan Communications.

Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc., up $1.05 at $11.59

The international offshore contractor said that BP has brought in its floating production unit to help contain the oil spill.

Pier 1 Imports Inc., up 25 cents at $7.99

An analyst said the retailer would likely post a much smaller first-quarter loss and return to posting a profit sometime this year.

Sara Lee Corp., up 15 cents at $14.78

The food maker said its CEO is recovering from a stroke after taking a temporary medical leave last month.

Blockbuster Inc., down 6 cents at 22 cents

The video game rental chain is reportedly exploring a type of financing that’s used to keep firms afloat in bankruptcy.

THQ Inc., down 64 cents at $4.91

The video game developer lowered its outlook on weak sales of a video game and the strengthening of the U.S. currency.
