Abercrombie & Fitch June revenue comparison rises
NEW ALBANY, Ohio — Preppy teen clothing company Abercrombie & Fitch said Thursday that revenue in its stores open at least a year rose 9 percent, breezing past analysts’ expectations.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters, on average, expected the figure to rise 2.8 percent.
Revenue at stores open at least a year is a key indicator of a retailer’s performance because it excludes results from stores that open or close during the year.
The figure rose 10 percent at Abercrombie & Fitch stores, 14 percent at abercrombie children’s stores and 7 percent at surf-themed Hollister stores.
Total revenue rose 23 percent to $277.3 million in the five-week period that ended July 3.
So far this year, revenue in stores open at least a year rose 3 percent and total revenue rose 15 percent to $1.16 billion.
