Leadership changes at NY-based tabloid Newsday

NEW YORK — Cablevision Systems Corp. has announced leadership changes at Newsday, including a new publisher for the Long Island-based tabloid newspaper.

Newsday publisher Terry Jimenez has been promoted to group president, responsible for overseeing Newsday, amNewYork and online properties. Advertising chief Fred Groser will succeed him as Newsday’s publisher.

The cable operator announced the appointments Tuesday.

Jimenez previously served as Newsday’s chief operating officer and publisher of amNewYork. During his tenure as publisher of Newsday, he led efforts to move the newspaper’s website to a subscriber model.

Groser was recently the senior vice president of sales.
