Corning spends $260,000 on lobbying in 2Q
NEW YORK — Corning Inc. spent $260,000 lobbying federal officials during the second quarter on diesel emissions, energy and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.
The world’s biggest maker of liquid-crystal-display glass for flat-panel televisions, computers and mobile devices spent $200,000 on lobbying a year earlier and $370,000 in the first quarter. Corning also makes ceramic auto-pollution filters and is the world’s largest producer of optical fiber and cable.
The company also lobbied the federal government on issues such as taxes, foreign trade, access to China reduction and fiber optic network construction, among other issues.
Corning lobbied Congress, the U.S. Trade Representative, the Federal Communications Commission among others, from April through June, according to its Aug. 3 filing with the House clerk’s office.
