Team Health sees revenue, net income grow in 2nd quarter

Team Health earns $18.6 million in 2Q
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Outsource company Team Health Holdings Inc., which contracts with hospitals to provide medical services, reported Tuesday that its second-quarter revenue and net income rose slightly.
The company said it earned $18.6 million, or 29 cents per share, for the quarter, compared with $15.8 million, or 32 cents per share, in the same quarter last year.
Excluding an impairment charge, the company earned 31 cents per share in the most recent quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn 25 cents per share on revenue of $378.7 million.
Revenue, less provisions for uncollectibles, rose 3.7 percent to $375.5 million.
Total revenue rose from $635.7 million to $656 million.
The company said it is positioned well for continued success in the second half of the year.
Shares of the company fell 3 cents to close at $13.60 and were unchanged in after-hours trading.
