She will be taking the charge of the daily operation of the publishing house while Johnson Rice will continue as the Chairman of the establishment.

Johnson Rice cited the confidence of Desiree Rogers and her business savvy nature as the qualities that have made her eligible for the position of chief executive officer of Johnson Publishing Company Inc. The Chicago based company that publishes Ebony and Jet magazine has been going through a rough patch of time and Desiree Rogers hopes to revive the company as much as she can. Some media sources claimed that Desiree Rogers plans to rethink everything at Johnson Publishing Company Inc. which includes areas like marketing of the company’s Fashion Fair cosmetics brand and its digital strategy that has become one of its weakest links. Desiree Rogers has said that she will try to put every possible means to get the company back to the forefront. However, there is no doubt about the fact that her position in the society, proximity to the White House and experience as an executives will help her a lot in her new job.

Desiree Rogers stepped down from her position in the White House in February this year. She stepped down following the criticism and controversy over her part in allowing an uninvited couple to gate crash into the first state dinner of the Obama Administration.
