Partner Communications says director Yacov Gelbard to become CEO as Avner, deputy CEO depart

Partner Communications names director as new CEO

Israel-based telecom companyPartner Communications Co. said Thursday that director Yacov Gelbard will be taking over as CEO on Oct. 1 from David Avner, who is resigning.

Partner, which operates under the brand name Orange, had announced Avner’s departure in March. Gelbard has been on Partner’s board since October 2009. He previously served as CEO of Bezeq, Israel’s largest telecom group, for about two years and was CEO of Pelephone, an Israeli cellular service provider within the Bezeq Group, for five years.

Partner also said deputy CEO Eli Glickman and Oded Degany, vice president of corporate development and investor relations, have decided to leave the company.
