Robert MacLellan, chairman of Canada’s Northleaf Capital Partners, joins T. Rowe Price board

T. Rowe Price names Canadian executive to board

BALTIMORE — Investment manager T. Rowe Price Group Inc. on Wednesday named the chairman of Canada’s largest private equity fund manager as a member of its board.

Robert F. MacLellan was named an independent director of the company.

MacLellan, 56, is non-executive chairman of Northleaf Capital Partners. He was previously chief investment officer for TD Bank Financial Group, where he was responsible for overseeing the management of investments for The Toronto-Dominion Bank, its Employee Pension Fund, TD Mutual Funds, and TD Capital Group.

He is a member of the boards of Ace Aviation Holdings Inc., which holds an interest in Air Canada, and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd., which owns the Toronto Maple Leafs NHL hockey team, the Toronto Raptors NBA basketball team, and other professional sports teams. He also serves on the advisory committee of Toronto-based Birch Hill Equity Partners.
