Aflac marketing chief jumps to Progressive
NEW YORK — Aflac Inc.’s marketing chief resigned to take the same title at Progressive Corp. on Wednesday.
M. Jeffrey Charney had held the titles of senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Aflac’s U.S. insurance operation since November 2008.
Aflac named Michael W. Zuna, 42, who joined Aflac as vice president of marketing last year, to lead its marketing division. Zuna previously served as managing director at Saatchi & Saatchi New York.
Prior to Aflac, Charney, 51, led marketing operation sat QVC Inc. and Fringe Ventures, a digital/marketing and consulting company he founded.
Aflac shares closed up $1, or 2 percent, at $53.74 in Wednesday trading. Progressive shares closed down 13 cents, at $21.02.
