Oneida Nation pays $5M in bonuses to workers

VERONA, N.Y. — The Oneida Indian Nation has paid more than $5 million in bonuses split among almost all of its 4,800 employees.

That’s $400,000 more than last year. The Oneidas say business has been good and its Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona did well even as the gambling industry nationally was hit hard by the recession.

The Oneida Nation is the largest employer in central New York’s Oneida and Madison counties.

The bonuses announced Friday went to 90 percent of its employees.
