Ross Stores promotes O’Sullivan to COO position
PLEASANTON, Calif. — Ross Stores Inc. said Friday that it promoted Michael O’Sullivan to president and chief operating officer.
O’Sullivan, 45, previously served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer. In his new role O’Sullivan will handle store operations, which will be in addition to his oversight of the discount retail chain’s supply chain, information technology, strategy, finance, legal and human resources.
Ross Stores also promoted Barbara Rentler to president and chief merchandising officer and James Fassio to president and chief development officer.
Rentler, 52, previously served as executive vice president of merchandising for Ross Dress for Less. Fassio, 54, previously served as executive vice president of property development, construction and store design.
O’Sullivan, Rentler and Fassio will continue to report to Vice Chairman and CEO Michael Balmuth.
Shares of Ross Stores fell 9 cents to $43.55 in afternoon trading.
