Red Robin to spend $6.7M in 1Q for TV advertising

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — Casual dining chain Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. said Monday it will spend $6.7 million in the first quarter for a television advertising campaign.

CEO Dennis Mullen said in a statement that it will use television advertising for its spring 2010 limited time offer promotion as a way to market new products.

Red Robin also said its board has approved the development of up to 15 new company-owned Red Robin restaurants in 2010.

Between 11 and 13 new company-owned Red Robin restaurants are expected to open in 2010, based on the company’s current development schedule.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers will fund its plan with operating cash flow and use additional free cash flow to pay down debt.
