MDU Resources promotes Doran Schwartz to CFO, replacing retiring Vernon Raile

MDU Resources promotes Schwartz to CFO
BISMARCK, N.D. — Energy, mining and construction company MDU Resources Group Inc. said Thursday it promoted Doran Schwartz to chief financial officer.
Schwartz was previously MDU Resources’ chief accounting officer. He joined the company in 2005 after working at American Express and Deloitte & Touche.
He replaces Vernon Raile, who plans to retire next month after 30 years with the company. MDU Resources has a policy that officers retire at age 65. Raile was 64 years old last March, according to company regulatory filings.
The company also said that Nicole Kivisto will become controller and chief accounting officer while Douglass Mahowald will be treasurer and assistance secretary. Both are currently MDU Resources executives.
The appointments will take effect Feb. 17.
Shares of MDU Resources added a penny to $23.59 in afternoon trading.
