Magellan Petroleum says Daniel Samela resigns as finance chief, replaced by William Begley Jr.

Magellan Petroleum names new financial chief
PORTLAND, Maine — Magellan Petroleum Corp. said Wednesday Daniel J. Samela has resigned as chief financial officer and will be succeeded by strategic adviser William E. Begley Jr.
The company did not give a reason for Samela’s move. His role included the positions of chief accounting officer and treasurer. He will remain with the company in the newly created role of vice president of new ventures.
Begley, 55, has been an adviser at the company for a year.
Shares of Magellan rose 1 cent to close at $1.64.
