DES MOINES, Iowa — Media and marketing company Meredith Corp. said Tuesday its former chief executive officer has resigned from its board of directors after accepting a job as CEO of a media and marketing research company.
William Kerr will step down from the board effective March 5. He recently accepted a position as CEO of Arbitron Inc. In a statement, Kerr said Arbitron asked that he limit outside board appointments.
Meredith publishes Better Homes and Gardens, and Ladies’ Home Journal magazines, among others.
Kerr joined the company in 1991 as president of its magazine group. He served as CEO from 1998 to 2006, and was board chairman from 1998 until earlier this year, when Stephen Lacy became CEO and chairman.
