Hawaiian Airlines February traffic dropped 5 percent, with capacity down 4.1 percent

Hawaiian Airlines February traffic fell 5 pct
HONOLULU — Hawaiian Airlines Inc. said on Friday that its February traffic fell 5 percent.
The airline flew 583.4 million revenue passenger miles, or one paying passenger flown one mile. That was down from 613.8 million a year earlier.
Capacity fell 4.1 percent to 708.9 million available seat miles, down from 739.3 million a year earlier.
Because traffic fell faster than Hawaiian reduced its capacity, its occupancy or load factor, fell 0.7 percent to 82.3 percent.
For January and February combined, Hawaiian saw traffic fall 1.3 percent to 1.25 billion. Capacity fell 3.4 percent to 1.51 billion available seat miles. Load factor rose 1.7 percent to 82.2 percent.
Shares of parent Hawaiian Holdings Inc. rose 7 cents to $7.85 in afternoon trading.
