Safe being installed at Colo. bank crushes man
GOLDEN, Colo. — Authorities in Colorado say a man installing a 1.5-ton steel safe at a bank has died after it slipped and crushed him.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacki Kelley says the man was pinned against a door, which trapped a co-worker in the room with him Thursday.
Firefighters cut through a wall to reach the man and the other worker, who wasn’t injured.
The name of the man who died hasn’t been released.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident in Ken Caryl (KARL’), an unincorporated area just south of Denver.
