KVH gets $2m order for military navigation systems
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — KVH Industries Inc. said Friday it received a $2 million order for military navigation systems for a foreign military customer, which it didn’t identify.
The company said it expected to begin shipping the fiber optic system in the second quarter of next year and finish in early 2014.
The system helps with navigation, battle management and as a backup to global-positioning systems.
KVH spokesman Chris Watson said the customer was a U.S. ally, but he declined to identify the country.
KVH is based in Middletown and has facilities in Illinois, Denmark and Singapore.
Shares fell 56 cents, or 3.7 percent, to $14.45 in afternoon trading.
