GM hires San Francisco agency to handle Chevy ads
DETROIT — General Motors Co. has picked Goodby, Silverstein and Partners as the new advertising agency for its Chevrolet brand.
The San Francisco-based agency replaces Campbell-Ewald of Warren, Mich., and French advertising company Publicis Groupe SA.
Last month GM fired Campbell-Ewald, which did Chevrolet ads for more than 90 years.
GM says it will begin working with the new agency immediately. New Marketing Chief Joel Ewanick says he is confident Goodby, Silverstein will quickly take Chevrolet to the next level.
GM says the new agency will open a Detroit office. The agency worked with GM’s Saturn brand from 2002 until 2007.
Former agency Campbell-Ewald’s campaigns included “See the USA in Your Chevrolet” sung by Dinah Shore in the 1950s.
